Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

• Responsible for setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes including prove out of new manufacturing processes and programs. Utilizes measurement equipment to verify setups and part dimensions. Interprets blueprints and CNC programs as needed to machine parts according to specifications.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup and operate mills and lathes according to manufacturing process and programs provided
• Prove out new programs and processes under the direction of senior machinists and programmers
• Verify product quality using inspection devices such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc
• Reads and interprets manufacturing drawings, routers, and CNC programs
• Responsible for accurate record keeping according to QMS procedures
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and adhering to all safety policies and guidelines
• Setup and operate manual mills, lathes, and grinding equipment as needed
• Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Relevant trade or technical certification.
Experience: 3-5 years experience preferred


Abilities:

• Strong ability to interpret prints/drawings
• Able to use measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, etc
• Able to setup fixtures, tooling, and workpieces in accordance with verbal and/or written instructions
• Able to operate CNC mills and lathes and make adjustments as needed to achieve tight tolerances in a wide variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel
• Basic understanding of CNC code and CNC machine functionality
• Basic computer skills
